Hi, its strawberry season..
The Strawberry Festival is a Signature Event in Bellevue, celebrating the region's agricultural heritage (an American fare). There was strawberry shortcake, strawberry shitakes, loads of food, bands playing from different regions and 'bhangra' (the show stopper of the festival)!

After being in Seattle for a couple of months I was under the impression that Americans don't like being loud and retro. But after this Berrylicious event I have a new impression and it didn't stop for me there. Visiting a strawberry farm was next on my list; where you pick your own strawberries(you even get to eat them as many as you can).
Finally after a week's hunt I could find one farm that was still open for strawberry picking whereas the season for picking was nearing its closure. One fine Saturday morning hubby agreed( though he was whimsical that we are going for farming which we will never do in our very own country India). After reaching there I was surprised that you can pick strawberries for free and buy for $1.80 per lb(way cheaper than market price for organic strawberries).

Lust I must say! Now there is more than 10lb(approx. 4kgs) strawberries lying in my refrigerator and he is already tired of eating them. Guess, what was up next.... ??
Yes, it was time to explore my kitchen skills :)
